These terms govern your use of heartspace.com and any purchase you make from us. By placing an order you agree to them. Please read them before you buy.
Who we are. Heartspace, 925 McEntire Rd, Tryon, North Carolina 28782, United States. You can reach us at don@heartspace.com.
1. What we sell
We sell The First 60 Days: A Memorial of Eternal Love and the Grief that Follows by Donald T. McMahon, in two formats: the paperback, a physical book shipped to you, and the eBook (PDF), a digital file delivered by download.
We describe both as accurately as we can. Product photographs are representative; slight variation in a printed book’s colour or trim is normal and is not a defect.
2. Prices and payment
All prices are shown in US dollars (USD) and exclude shipping unless stated. Shipping is calculated at checkout and shown before you pay.
We accept payment through PayPal, which also processes credit and debit cards. You do not need a PayPal account to pay by card. We never see or store your full card number — PayPal handles the payment and holds those details.
Your order is not accepted until payment clears and you receive our confirmation email. If we cannot fulfil an order after payment, we will refund you in full. If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we may cancel and refund rather than fulfil the order, and we will tell you why.
3. Placing an order
When you place an order you confirm that you are at least 18, or have permission from a parent or guardian, and that your details are accurate. A wrong shipping address is the most common cause of a lost parcel, so please check it.
4. Shipping — United States only
We currently ship to addresses within the United States only. We are not able to accept orders for delivery outside the US at this time, and checkout will not offer non-US destinations.
Shipping is a flat $5.00 per order, added at checkout. Orders are usually dispatched within 3-5 business days. Delivery times vary and are outside our control once a parcel is with the carrier.
The eBook carries no shipping charge, because nothing is posted — it is delivered to you as a download.
Risk of loss passes to you on delivery. If a parcel arrives damaged or does not arrive at all, contact us — see the Refund and Returns Policy.
5. Digital downloads
When you buy the eBook you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to read it. You may keep a copy on your own devices and print a copy for your own use.
You may not resell, redistribute, upload, share or publish the file, in whole or in part, or strip any notice from it. The book is protected by copyright and remains the property of the author.
Your download link is in the order confirmation email and in your account. Re-downloads are unlimited and links do not expire, but please keep your own backup. By downloading, you agree that delivery begins immediately and that the file is not returnable once accessed.
6. Intellectual property
The book, its cover, this site’s text and images, and the Heartspace name and logo are owned by Donald T. McMahon or by Heartspace. Buying a copy does not transfer any of those rights. Short quotations for review or comment are welcome with attribution.
7. Accounts and acceptable use
If you create an account, keep your password secure and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for activity under your account, and we may suspend an account we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently. Please do not attempt to break into, overload or interfere with the site, scrape it, or use it for anything unlawful.
8. Reviews quoted on this site
Reader reviews shown here are genuine, quoted from verified Amazon purchases and attributed to their authors. They are individual opinions, not promises about your own experience of the book.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change or withdraw products, prices or content at any time. Changes do not affect orders already accepted.
10. Liability
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
This book is a personal memoir about grief. It is not medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional.
11. Your legal rights
If you are a consumer, you have rights under the law that these terms cannot take away. Nothing here is intended to limit them.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, and the courts of North Carolina have jurisdiction.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here on the date of your order. The date at the top tells you when we last changed them.
